"Overall,
we have been able to achieve a very fast project payback
on our APC projects with the GMAXC controller because of
low initial investment and the ability to install and maintain
these controllers with in-house staff."
"We
believe that GMAXC offered a very competitive license price
while still providing all the features of MVPC control"
Our objective is to identify, design and
implement advanced automation solutions
which will improve your profitability and
provide superior return on your automation
investment.
Even in relatively new areas of automation
solutions for the chemical process industry,
our feasibility studies can identify and
define potential applications with estimated
cost/benefit ratios for your project planning
and budgeting.
An example of our study:
APC Benefits Study - To Improve the Plant Operational
Profitability By:
1) Identifying Opportunities (Data collection, interviews with operations, engineering
and management)
2) Assessing Opportunities (Data analysis,
debottlenecking, Operating flexibility)
3) Defining preliminary advanced control strategies to alleviate problems or take
advantage of potential opportunities
4) Identifying instrumentation and equipment required to implement
recommended control strategies
5) Justifying Automation Related Investment (Estimated Costs and Benefits)
6) Developing project execution plan
APC works mainly via
tighter product quality control. By reducing
the quality variance (typically 30% to 50%
reduction), production can be achieved
closer to the actual specification as shown
above.
This reduction in average
quality (but, still above specification)
results in:
Lower usage of resources, which can
then be realized in raw material
savings,
Energy savings, and
Capacity availability
Real Time Optimization Study: The
scope of this Real Time Optimization (RTO)
study involved the review of all major refinery
operating units (Crude, Vacuum, FCC, HCR,
Residue Desulfurizer, Reformer, Gas Plant
and Boilers) to identify and quantify potential
RTO related benefit areas and to provide
a plan for implementing RTO. In studying
these process operations, several opportunities
for realizing such benefits were identified.
These observations were based on interviews
with operations and engineers, and model
based analysis of plant data, constraints
and operating objectives.
